R2C is seeking Systems Engineers to support a client's technical requirements on a mission focused program within a challenging, dynamic setting located in the Washington Metropolitan Area.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with other contractor developers, systems engineers, and requirements analysts

  • Create and maintain technical documentation

  • Design and integrate remote solutions into a large scale network

  • Test and evaluate tools for interoperability with existing infrastructure

  • Design, document, and automate the build of infrastructures

  • Conduct research and development to evolve services

  • Identify project tasks for transition to enterprise service providers

  • Train enterprise service providers on selected project tasks

  • Monitor and resolve issues specific to the infrastructure in a timely manner

  • Translate requirements into enterprise solutions

  • Participate in technical exchange meetings with vendors

  • Provide Tier 1 through Tier 4 IT support for the infrastructure

  • Demonstrate working knowledge of the interconnectivity between Information Systems and IT management tools

  • Write test plans in collaboration with project manager and team lead

Qualifications

  • Experience with reading and building network design topologies (physical and logical)

  • Experience of best engineering practices, standards, and guidelines for network design

  • Experience building Windows and Linux OS environments to host managed applications on physical appliances in data center environments

  • Experience administering Windows and Linux Platform  environments in cloud based environments

  • Experience troubleshooting VM architectures for availability & performance issues

  • Experience performing Software Upgrades, Configuration Management, and Version Control of Operating Systems and Applications

  • Experience using Linux commands for activities such as process monitoring, file management, and searching

  • Experience creating a full range of software architecture and engineering documents and diagrams

  • Experience working with AWS services

  • Understanding of HTTPS/HTTP services and how to test them

  • Experience using software version control tools

  • Experience using DevOps tools

  • Experience using JIRA

  • Experience applying System Engineering best practices to requirements

  • Experience conducting Verification and Validation activities

  • Experience supporting technical briefings to high level staff

  • Experience management competing priorities and risks

  • Experience managing risk mitigation plans

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience with SQL

  • Experience working in an Agile development environment

  • Working knowledge of client environment, to include security posture and general IT architecture

  • Experience developing and/or maintaining large scale enterprise programs

  • Experience integrating COTS solutions into large scale enterprise programs

  • Experience using PKI tools and protocols

  • Working knowledge of agile development methodologies and practices

  • Experience participating in multiple forums to address issues such as strategy, architecture, policy, road-maps, processes, dependencies, interoperability, technology, and governance

  • Relevant certifications to include Certified Wireless Network Professional (CWNP), Microsoft, Linux and VMware
