R2C is seeking a Data Manager to support a client's operational requirements on a mission focused program within a challenging, dynamic setting located in the Chantilly, VA Area.

Responsibilities: 

  • The Data Manager acquires, controls, and catalogs large scale, complex datasets for our customer's mission.

  • The position requires a highly detail-oriented individual who understands the complexities of data movement and curation.

  • The Data Manager will also be responsible for analyzing the customer's current dataset catalog to identify gaps that will then drive additional targeted dataset acquisitions as appropriate.

Qualifications: 

  • Demonstrates excellent analytical and critical thinking skills and pays close attention to detail.

  • Demonstrates ability to complete milestones and work toward multiple deadlines simultaneously.

  • Experience working with private and sensitive personal information.

  • Ability to compile and organize statistical information retrieved and present findings to management.

  • Assess system performance and make recommendations for hardware, software, and data storage improvements.

  • Experience developing data management strategies.

  • Experience translating technical information into clear, readable documents and presentations to be used by technical and non-technical personnel.

  • Experience researching and evaluating sources of information to determine possible limitations in reliability or usability.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.

  • Ten (10) + years of data management experience may substitute for a degree.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP)

  • Experience designing and developing complex data mappings, sessions, workflows and identify areas of optimizations.

  • Experience data sourcing, data integration and data quality projects.

  • Experience with sourcing Big Data stores (i.e. Hadoop).
