R2C is seeking a Senior Technical Writer to support a client's technical requirements on a mission focused program within a challenging, dynamic setting located in the Washington Metropolitan Area.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop daily and more in-depth technical publications that meet organizational standards

  • Maintain a deep understanding of products and services to translate complex product information into simple, polished, and engaging content

  • Plan, design, edit, and manage the contents of finished multimedia publications

  • Work collaboratively with developers, engineers, and managers to ensure accuracy of product descriptions

  • Explain complex technical information in a clear and concise manner

  • Manage updates and revisions to technical literature

Qualifications

  • Bachelors in English, writing marketing, communications, or journalism with 6 years related experience; or Masters with 4 years experience; or an Associates with 8 years experience

  • 3-5 years in marketing, publishing, communications, or related fields

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent proofreading skills

  • Ability to translate and communicate complex analysis using accurate, concise, and effective writing

  • Experience working with content management systems

  • Minimum 2 years experience using Desktop Publishing, basic graphics techniques, Adobe Acrobat and Photoshop, Hypertext Markup Language (HTML), Extensible Markup Knowledge (XML), and Microsoft Office Suite (Intermediate Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

  • Flexible, positive self-starter and team player with creative abilities and exceptionally organized and detail-oriented

  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, multi-task, and work under pressure

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Understanding of Section 508 accessibility requirements


Preferred Qualifications

  • ITIL Foundation Certification

  • DOD 8570 Certification
